Australians shocked to discover detail about Bubble O’Bill ice cream

Aussies have been left stunned after discovering a key detail about one of the most iconic ice creams from their childhood.

While some have known for ages, others were shocked to discover that Bubble O’Bill ice creams – which are shaped to look like a cowboy and a nose that turns into gum – has a bullet hole in his cowboy hat.

And the individual allegedly responsible for the bullet hole is none other than Bill’s older sister Bubble O’Jill.

Word of Bill’s hat detail began to circulate when a Queensland mum took to Facebook to ask if everyone else noticed the hole in the ice cream, Kidspot reported.

“How old were you when you discovered BUBBLE O’ BILL had a BULLET HOLE in his hat?” she asked.

While some did claim they knew and couldn’t believe no one else did, others were just as shocked as the mum who only discovered the truth in 2023.

“Today old and I’ve probably eaten 1000 in 38 years,” one shocked fan responded.

“What! Have I been eating blindfolded for the past 50 odd years?” another astounded person commented.

“No way,” another said.

But others were less than impressed with the hole, as many expressed outrage over the fact that there is a section that we’re paying for that didn’t include ice cream.

“The bullet hole in Bubble O Bill’s hat is a hole less ice cream. I’m #glasshalfempty when it comes to ice cream,” one person vented on Twitter.

“To be honest when I noticed the hole I felt annoyed that they could have filled it with ice cream,” another agreed on Facebook.

KidSpot confirmed the rumour about the bullet hole is true and Bubble O’Jill, a spin-off of the popular treat released in 2020, is responsible for Bill’s bullet hole.

Bubble O’Jill, is the rootin’ tootin’ older sister to our old fave Bill. Legend has it, she’s responsible for the bullet hole in her brother’s hat – and in fact, she has a whole Wild, Wild West backstory of outlandish tales.
