This is your guide on where to cast your vote in the Northern Territory this election and have your say on who runs our country.

So you’re ready to vote in the federal election, but you’re not sure where to go.

Look no further – welcome to your all-in-one guide to polling booths in the Northern Territory.

Voting on election day (May 21) opens at 8am and closes at 6pm sharp, and booths can be found at local schools, churches, community halls and public buildings across the territory.

You can find your closest polling booth in the complete list below and follow our live coverage of the election here.

With extra hygiene and Covid-19 safety measures in place on the day, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to cast your vote on May 21.

If you can’t make it on election day, you can apply for a postal vote by Wednesday, May 18.

Pre-polling booths are also open across the state; find your closest pre-polling centre here.

And if you’re not in the state where you’re enrolled to vote on election day, you will need to vote at an interstate voting centre. And if you’re overseas, your ballots must be returned in time to be counted.

That’s the beauty of compulsory voting.

So happy voting – and don’t forget to grab a democracy sausage while you’re at it.
