Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios have capped off an unlikely and equally impressive season with a gong at the 2022 ATP Awards.
Nicknamed the ‘Special Ks’, the duo were voted as the Fans’ Favourite doubles team.
The break-out pair notably won the Australian Open men’s doubles title in January before taking out the Atlanta Open in August, as well as making the semi-finals in Miami.

Kokkinakis and Kyrgios picked up a total of 19 wins from the eight tournaments they participated in throughout 2022, which saw them compete in their first-ever ATP Finals to wrap up the season.
The Australian duo bowed out of the tournament in Turin in the group stages but still put on a signature show for fans, notching a stunning upset in their second match.

Kokkinakis delivered a video message in response to the award.
It is the first time Australian players have won the prize since its introduction in 2005.
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you for voting us, me and Nick, as your Fans’ Favourite ATP doubles team of the year,” Kokkinakis said.
“It’s been a hell of a year winning our first Grand Slam on home soil in Australia.
“[It was] a crazy atmosphere down there – the support we’ve gotten all year has been amazing.
“Thanks again and hopefully we can keep it rolling. We’ll see you all in January. Thank you!”
