A Virgin Australia flight from Perth to Brisbane has been forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.
There was a “technical issue” flight VA469, with passengers told that the hydraulic flaps on the wings had an issue.
That left the pilots with just the brakes to rely on upon landing.
Despite the drama – and the plane circling Perth to burn off fuel – the flight landed without a hitch at around 3pm.
“We are working to recover guests on another flight to Brisbane today,” a Virgin Australia spokesman said.
“The safety of our guests and crew is our top priority. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
