A range of popular sweet snacks have been pulled from shelves at Woolworths and Coles across the country due to possible contamination.

A wide range of sweet and confectionery products have urgently been pulled from Woolworths, Coles and IGAs across the country due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand announced on Thursday a collection of Elite branded items have been recalled from shelves to stop people from potentially falling ill.

The recalled products include:

  • Elite Chocolate
  • Elite Cakes
  • Elite Wafers
  • Energy Grain Snacks
  • Energy Chocolate Rice Cakes
  • Gum
  • Toffee Candies

All batches have been recalled, regardless of their use-by date or batch number.

The products have been sold nationally at Coles, Woolworths, IGAs, 7/11, independent Kosher stores and Milk bars.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has told consumers not to eat these products, which can be returned to their place of purchase for a full refund.

Symptoms of Salmonella include vomiting, stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea and headaches.

Anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
